Something easy to start with

A route that is well suited for beginners goes over the Lech. The trails on the small circuit from Warth lead along mostly paved MTB paths through a beautiful landscape.

The designated route is just over 8 km long and has elevations of 100 m up and down. With an e-bike, the ride is definitely manageable for all fitness levels.

BURGWALD TRAIL LECH AT ARLBERG

The Burgwald Trail in Lech at Arlberg is a must for all mountain bikers. This trail is the first official freeride and enduro route in Vorarlberg, making it a unique experience for adventure seekers. The trail offers mountain bikers in the destination of Lech an unforgettable adventure through the breathtaking landscape of Austria’s westernmost province.

The Burgwald Trail is around 3 kilometers long and has a difference in altitude of around 500 meters. It offers an exciting mix of steep descents, technical sections and flowing trails that will satisfy riders of all abilities. The trail also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, adding to its appeal as a world-class mountain biking destination.

The Burgwald Trail is a unique mountain bike experience that offers mountain bikers the opportunity to test their skills and push their limits. The trail is designed for amateurs, mountain bike pros and experienced downhill bikers.

It is divided into three sections – blue (easy), red (hard) and black (extreme) – and is aimed at riders of all abilities. The blue section is ideal for beginners looking to build confidence on the bike, while the red section is a more challenging terrain with steep descents and technical features. For those looking for an extreme challenge, the black section offers an intense adrenaline rush with its narrow trails and daredevil drops.

Mountain bikers can choose which section of the trail they want to tackle depending on their ability and confidence. The blue section offers wider trails with gentle slopes and easy curves, providing a safe environment for beginners to improve their skills without feeling too overwhelmed.

SOMETHING FOR WELL-TRAINED MOUNTAIN BIKERS

13.4 km long and a real challenge is the next suggestion. The route leads over the Lech bridge around Straß. Differences in altitude of 530 m make the route demanding. You should be in good physical condition to master this challenge.

GEOGRAPHICALLY WELL-CONNECTED ROUTES

The starting points of all the mountain biking routes in Austria suggested here can be easily reached by public transport. Geographically, the routes are well developed. You are guaranteed to find many more beautiful routes to inspire you to go mountain biking in Austria.

From our Lech Valley Lodge in Warth at Arlberg, you can set off directly into the mountain bike and cycling paradise on the Arlberg. Whether by mountain bike or e-bike, each of the individual routes has something to offer.

Just how challenging mountain biking can be is demonstrated by the Warth loop, which leads over the Lech bridge and through the village of Lech. Although it is only 17.8 km long, it still demands a lot from you. The difference in altitude of 450 m can only be mastered by experienced mountain bikers. Most people will push their bike up the hill. You will be rewarded with fantastic views.
