Heliskiing
A fantastic Adventure

Heliskiing in Austria

Heliskiing is the kind and ultimate freedom. The 2,652 m high Mehlsack in the Lechtal Alps near Lech, which is perfect for experienced skiers and freeriders, or the Schneetäli at an altitude of 2,450 m are the only mountains in Austria where heliskiing is allowed.

You should definitely not miss this adventure when you spend your vacation in Warth am Arlberg. It is the perfect combination between skiing and flying and a unique deep snow experience and feeling of happiness.

The trained and certified ski and mountain guides of the ski school Warth and the ski schools in the area will show you the unforgettable and beautiful area with lots of deep snow and dreamy downhill runs on the Arlberg in Austria during the flight and in the terrain.

HELISKI-Experience at Arlberg

Experience the boundless freedom and untouched nature on the mountain during winter vacation! This is what the heliski area offers and an unforgettable day on the Arlberg. Until spring, heliskiing is an absolute attraction here at the Arlberg due to the snow guarantee.

With more than 200 km of freeride and deep-snow runs, the freeride mecca on the Arlberg attracts numerous freeriders every year.

What is Heliskiing?

Heliskiing is the dream of every enthusiastic freerider! You fly with the helicopter far away from slopes to a lonely peak. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the gigantic mountain world. Untouched freeride mountains and deep snow slopes are waiting to be conquered and explored by you.

Free skiing takes on a different meaning here at the ski resort. Without an exhausting ascent you can enjoy about 1 hour of descent to the valley through high snow. The ride does not end until you arrive in an enchanting side valley in Zug near Lech. With this highlight of heliskiing the Arlberg has another attraction, which you will experience really only here. Most would like to start this journey again immediately.

Different options for heliskiing

At the Arlberg in Austria you can choose from two different routes in the ski area. The departure for heliskiing by helicopter in the direction of Mehlsack on the Zuger Schafberg or Schneetäli starts either at the Flexenpass between Warth and Zürs or at the Kriegerhorn.

You should only aim for the “Mehlsack” if you already have sufficient experience as a freerider. The descent in the direction of Älpele or over the sunny slopes from Madloch via the large Stierloch leads to Zug. In spring, this descent is a dream because of the wonderful snow quality, “firn snow like whipped cream”.

After the impressive descent and the unique experience from the Mehlsack to the valley floor, a path leads back to Zug. With the Auenfeldbahn and the Saloberjet you come back to Warth.
