Warth at Arlberg is a fascinating mountain destination that offers legendary downhill skiing in winter and an unforgettable nature experience in summer. This charming village is located in the Austrian region of Vorarlberg at an altitude of 1,500 metres above sea level, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Austrian Alps and 42 km south-east of Lake Constance.

It is also home to Austria’s largest ski area with over 300 kilometres of slopes and 200 km of open terrain for skiers and snowboarders. The entire ski area covers over 50 km² and is one of the most family-friendly ski areas in Austria.

In winter, Warth at Arlberg attracts visitors from all over the world with its fantastic skiing conditions and breathtaking scenery. The ski area here is connected to other popular destinations such as Lech Zürs, St. Anton am Arlberg and Stuben – making it one of the most extensive ski areas in Europe. Warth in Winter

Warth is world-renowned for its magnificent mountains and legendary downhill runs in winter. The village’s cosy setting offers visitors the chance to experience genuine Austrian hospitality while enjoying some of the best skiing conditions in the country. The snow-covered mountain peaks around Warth offer numerous opportunities for skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports activities.

The region’s unique mountain ranges are simply breathtaking to behold, with challenging mountains, towering peaks and crystal-clear glacial lakes providing the perfect backdrop for outdoor activities.

In addition to skiing, Warth also offers numerous winter sports activities such as snowshoeing, ice skating, ice climbing, freeriding, heli-skiing and tobogganing.

Although the village is small with only around 170 inhabitants all year round, it offers everything you need for a comfortable stay, including restaurants serving delicious Tyrolean and Vorarlberg cuisine and cosy accommodation ranging from traditional inns to luxurious hotels.

Warth is also home to several world-class SPAS where you can indulge in luxurious treatments that will rejuvenate your body and mind.

Fascinating nature on the Arlberg - the Körbersee

The Körbersee in beautiful Schröcken is a natural gem at 1,656 metres above sea level. This picturesque lake is surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery and offers a unique atmosphere in the great outdoors.

Ideal for nature lovers, the Körbersee is only accessible on foot or with a limited shuttle service.

The crystal-clear waters of the Körbersee are ideal for swimming and fishing in the summer months. The surrounding alpine meadows offer hikers countless opportunities to explore this breathtaking area and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views. Guided hikes are offered on a weekly basis.

The charming Berghotel Körbersee offers visitors a stop-off in idyllic surroundings.

Hiking to the Punschhütte

The Steffisalp-Express is an easy and convenient way to reach some of Austria’s best hiking trails. This takes you from 1,498 meters to 1,880 meters above sea level in just a few minutes.

From here you can explore some truly breathtaking scenery and enjoy a variety of activities such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing or simply stop off at the Punschhütte and enjoy the Austrian specialties there. It is only 0.5 km from the mountain station to the Punschhütte.

Steffisalp-Express in summer

The 4-seater chairlift “Steffisalp-Express” is 50 metres from our lodge and takes you directly to the Arlberg hiking area and the most beautiful mountain world in Austria.

Hiking to the Hochalphütte

The path to the romantic Hochalphütte winds its way through beautiful alpine meadows before entering steeper terrain. Along the way, hikers have plenty of opportunities to stop and admire wildflowers, waterfalls and wildlife. As you approach the hut, expect more rocky terrain and some steep sections to climb.

You can reach the Hochalphütte from Warth or directly from the Jägeralpe via a circular hiking trail along the “Alte Salzstraße”. Open daily from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm in summer.

Hiking to Bürstegg

Bürstegg, formerly the highest Walser settlement in Vorarlberg, is an insider tip for hiking enthusiasts. This small village in the mountains offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and is a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The name of the village itself suggests a close connection with nature. The winding paths that lead over the Wannenkopf to Bürstegg offer hikers unique opportunities to connect with nature in its purest form as they graze trees, bushes and wildflowers along the way.

The hiking trails are well marked and suitable for all fitness levels. The route is approx. 5 km long.

Magical views from the summits

As soon as you arrive in Warth, you should definitely enjoy the magical view. The peaks of the surrounding mountains are around 2,700 m high. This is an experience not to be missed when visiting this area. The majestic mountains offer breathtaking views that will leave you speechless.

From every corner, you can see the towering peaks of the mountains that surround it. A visit at sunrise or sunset is particularly captivating as the sun illuminates these towering mountain ranges and casts shadows across them, creating a beautiful contrast with the clear blue sky.

The beauty of these mountains also goes beyond their visual appeal. They offer visitors the opportunity to connect with nature through hiking trails for the adventurous and skiing and snowboarding opportunities for adrenaline junkies in the winter months.
